About Us
We are a firm of Chartered Accountants with over 40 years experience
in accountancy, consultancy, taxation and auditing services. We have 6 Partners and over 200 Staff.
The firm was founded by Senator David Omueya Dafinone, as "D. O.
Dafinone & CO, Chartered Accountants", and registered on the 18th August, 1966. The firm commenced practice in Nigeria in an office suite located at 9,
Nnamdi Azikiwe Street Lagos, with staff strength of 8.
As a result of the rapid growth and diversification in the activities
of the firm, it became necessary for the founder and sole Partner, Senator D. O.
Dafinone, to seek alternative office accommodation. He therefore acquired office space at Savannah Bank Chambers in
central Lagos in 1972. In 1996, the firm moved to Apapa as a result of the shortage of space for the level of the services being provided to clients.
In 1997, the firm joined
Horwath International and in 2003, changed
its name to "Horwath Dafinone".
In August 2000, the Guinness World Records recognised the founding
partner, Senator D.O.Dafinone, and five of the partners (Messrs Igho and Duvie Dafinone,
Chief Ede Dafinone, Dr Daphne Dafinone and Mrs Joy Amazu) as holding the world record
for the most number of practising Chartered Accountants in any one family.
